The O-Shot® and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a specialized component of human blood containing growth factors and healing properties. Devoid of red blood cells but rich in blood serum, PRP aids in blood clotting and tissue repair, accelerating healing processes.
PRP, obtained from a patient’s own blood, can be reinjected into targeted areas to promote healing, cell growth, tissue generation, and collagen production, skin to human stem cells. This procedure, performed in-office, involves drawing a small amount of blood, isolating growth factors through centrifugation, and activating them with calcium chloride or calcium gluconate.
PRP harnesses growth factors to stimulate collagen production, fibroblastic activity, and blood vessel formation, potentially enhancing sensation and reducing scar formation.
Is the O-Shot® with PRP Safe?
While there have been discussions about the risks associated with injecting one’s own PRP into the body, no actual issues or significant complications have been reported. The O-Shot® procedure involves reintroducing a fraction of one’s own blood into the body, although it’s a highly processed and carefully selected portion. The only reported complication from using PRP occurred when sterility was compromised during the entire process of blood withdrawal, processing, and reinjection.

HOW IS THE O-SHOT GIVEN
After numbing the area with cream, a small amount of your blood is drawn via venipuncture. The blood is processed using specialized tubes and a centrifuge. Once the PRP is prepared, ice is applied to the clitoris for additional numbing. Then, approximately 1cc of PRP is injected directly into the clitoral glans, and the remaining 4-5cc is injected under the skin, vaginally, near the G-spot. The entire procedure takes about 1 minute and is typically described as painless or causing only minimal discomfort.
Most women experience significant improvement within several days to 3 weeks after the injection. The full effect is usually noticeable within 3 months. If there’s no improvement, the injection may be repeated later. Reports suggest that 75-95% of women experience improved sexual function after the O-Shot®, with effects lasting between 1 to 4 years, typically around 2 to 3 years. When the effects diminish, the shot can be repeated.
