Introduction

Introduction to ThermiVa

ThermiVa is changing the way women think about intimate wellness. Instead of surgery or invasive procedures, this treatment uses controlled radiofrequency technology to gently warm vaginal tissues, encouraging your body to naturally boost collagen production and renew itself.

At Dr. Buffalo MedSpa & Surgery, Dr. Armen Kirakosyan, known to many as “Dr. Buffalo”, offers this treatment in a private, welcoming space where women can comfortably address personal concerns that may have been put aside for years.

What is a ThermiVa?

ThermiVa is a non-invasive treatment that uses gentle heat to help stimulate collagen production and improve tissue health.

By delivering radiofrequency energy to the internal and external vaginal tissues, it helps tighten and tone, improve sensation, and enhance natural lubrication.

Types

Procedure Types

ThermiVa® for Bladder Leakage:

Bladder leakage—whether it’s a few drops when you laugh, cough, exercise, or the sudden urge to go can be frustrating and embarrassing. Many women silently struggle with urinary incontinence, thinking surgery or pads are the only options. ThermiVa® offers a safe, non-invasive alternative that strengthens tissues and improves bladder control.

ThermiVa® uses gentle radiofrequency energy to heat the tissues around the vagina and pelvic floor. This process stimulates new collagen production, strengthens tissue support, and improves circulation. The result is:

  • Stronger support for the bladder and urethra
  • Reduced leaks with coughing, sneezing, or exercising (stress incontinence)
  • Improved control over sudden urges (urge incontinence)
  • Greater comfort, confidence, and freedom in daily life

ThermiVa® for Lichen Sclerosus:

Lichen sclerosus is a chronic skin condition that often affects the vulva, causing itching, burning, dryness, skin thinning, and discomfort during intimacy. Many women struggle for years with creams or topical steroids, but still experience symptoms that affect their quality of life.

ThermiVa® offers a non-surgical, drug-free option to help manage these symptoms and restore comfort. Using controlled radiofrequency energy to warm the affected tissues gently, we stimulate collagen remodeling and improve blood flow.

After treatment, patients often notice:

  • Reduced itching and burning
  • Softer, more elastic skin
  • Improved hydration and sensitivity
  • Greater comfort in daily life and intimacy

ThermiVa is often combined with O-shot treatment at Dr. Buffalo MedSpa & Surgery to accomplish the best results in controlling Lichen Sclerosus symptoms.

ThermiVa® for Scars:

Scarring in the vaginal or vulvar area—whether from childbirth, surgery, or trauma—can leave behind discomfort, tightness, or visible changes that affect both daily comfort and intimacy. These scars may feel tender, create pulling sensations, or even contribute to pain during sexual activity.

ThermiVa® offers a safe, non-surgical way to soften and remodel scar tissue while restoring comfort and confidence.

Who Are the Best Candidates for ThermiVa?

The best candidates for ThermiVa are women who are experiencing changes in vaginal health due to aging, childbirth, hormonal shifts, or other factors, and who want a non-surgical solution. If you have noticed increased dryness, a loss of tightness, mild urinary leakage, or changes in sensation, ThermiVa may be a great option for you. If you have a history of Lichen Sclerosus, you can benefit tremendously from this procedure.

This treatment is not designed for women who are pregnant or who have certain medical conditions, so a consultation at Buffalo Medical Spa is the best way to determine if it’s right for you.

What Are the Benefits of ThermiVa?

Our ThermiVa treatment can help tighten lax tissues after childbirth or with age, reduce dryness, improve sexual sensation, and support better bladder control. On the external side, it can gently smooth and improve the appearance of the labia.

Many women also appreciate the boost in self-esteem that comes with feeling more comfortable in their own skin. The improvements are gradual, building over the weeks following treatment as your body naturally responds to the collagen stimulation.

What to Expect From a ThermiVa Treatment?

Our ThermiVa treatments are performed in our private spa setting. A small, smooth device delivers gentle radiofrequency energy to the tissues, and the entire process typically takes about 30 minutes.

During the treatment, a small handheld device will be gently inserted and moved along the vaginal canal and the external areas. This device delivers controlled radiofrequency energy that produces a gentle warming sensation. Most of our patients describe their ThermiVa treatment as soothing and comfortable, similar to a warm massage. The warmth stimulates collagen production and tightens the tissues without causing pain.

After treatment, you are more than welcome to resume your normal activities, including exercise and intimacy. Some mild redness, slight swelling, and, occasionally, vaginal spotting might occur, but these effects typically fade quickly.
